The
Cambridge Audio 840A V.2 integrated amplifier has received many
accolades for it's design and sound quality. It uses two separate
power supplies; one massive torriod for the amps and a smaller
one for the pre-amp stage. The amp is a dual mono design and uses
class XD amplification for the purist reproduction of the music
waveform. Even the volume control is something special using a
resistive ladder network rather than a variable pot type so the
left and right channels are precisely aligned for effortless stereo
imaging. The eight line inputs can be labeled as you wish and
they can be trimmed so the volume level stays the same as you
change inputs. One pair of balanced inputs too. There's a lot
more to this beast as well like potential for multi-room/multi-source
audio, connecting with a home theatre receiver, etc. The retail
